Remember to get your CD orders in now for a copy of the Christmas Concert!

Milana, Kim and I met this past Tues. evening to select music for the Spring Concert. We chose some great music and think we have an exciting season coming up!

We have such wonderful singers in our group--let's continue to spread the word and recruit talented women who will enjoy our relaxed, hard work ethic and love being with us!

OH! WHAT A WONDERFUL CONCERT!

Dear Friends,

How beautiful you were tonight and how wonderful you sounded! The concert was delightful and Bruce and I very much enjoyed it, as did the enthusiastic audience. Thank you to the members of the chorus who were so generous with their time and energy that the hall looked festive and lovely, and thank you to all who contributed and laid out the cookie reception, which was also generous and enjoyed by all. (The celery and carrots made the perfect ending to the sweets. ;-)

I'm looking forward to seeing you on January 10th when rehearsals begin again! (Remember to keep telling your talented friends about Una Vocé. If you want me to hear someone I can audition them on Tues, Jan 3rd at the Civic Center between 5 and 8 pm.)

If any of you have good pictures of the concert will you please share them with me?

Love and our best wishes for a very merry Christmas and a happy and joyful new year.

Linda

Pre-Concert Reminders

Linda asked me to tell you how great you sound again this year.
Thank you for all your hard work. What a great way to start our Christmas season.

Some last minute reminders:
--Warm up at 6:40 in their 'green room' (in basement)
--Please remove any paper on outside of binders as well as any unattached paper inside
--Have music in plastic sheets and copy pages so you turn the fewest sheets possible [if it's a 2 or 4 page song, have pages 1&2 face each other, and turn once for pages 3&4]
--Change of song order . . . Room at the Inn will follow Carolers to finish the first set.
--After the first set we will need to change our seating order in the hall before we take our seats.
--Holiday Reflections will start the second set.
--Remember your cookies and CD orders.

UnaVoce` - What a Great Experience

What a great experience it is participating weekly in this marvelous UnaVoce` Chorus. As you are probably finding, it is fun having a voice lesson every Tuesday night. Certain things must take place for it to be an effective and worthwhile experience for all involved. We've listed a few of them:

  • Be on time . . . 8:15 pm sharp.

  • Bring your music, pencil, water, cough drops, etc. every week.

  • Be attentive when Linda is speaking and mark your music with her instructions.

  • If you must miss a rehearsal because of illness, emergency, or any other reason, please call Linda Walker (208) 230-4344 ahead of time or email her at lindassong@mac.com .

  • Bruce would like us to sign in at the back table each time we come to practice, and for anyone new to fill out and turn in a registration form.

  • Tuition this term is $100 which includes the fee for music. If you haven't already paid or made arrangements, please make tuition checks payable to Linda Walker but give your check to Bruce. You may also mail it to them at . . . 6927 E. Greens Dr Nampa, ID 83687.

  • Concert Dress is: Long black skirt, long sleeved(or mid arm length) jewel tone button front blouse, black hose and black shoes.

As we discussed last night (Oct 4) we would like to invite you to be on one of the following committees to allow 'many hands to make light work'. Contact Kim kimilee.wood@gmail.com if you have a preference.

  1. Publicity & Ticket Sales

  2. Blog Photogra0her

  3. Recruitment

  4. Refreshment & Cleanup

  5. Concert Night decorations

Thank you all for your participation and talents. Linda says, "You are such a delight to work with." Thanks for your willingness to be an active part of the group.

There's a Song in the Air!

Can you feel it?

Kim Wood, Milana Colt and I had a fun time last week picking the music for our Una Vocé Christmas concert.

Kim also suggested several committees that will make our choir more fun and functional. I am excited!

Our goal for this season is to have more than 30 members so please encourage your talented friends.

Rehearsals start 8:15 p.m. September 13th, at the Nampa Civic Center.

See you there!

Linda

THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL CONCERT EXPERIENCE!

You were beautiful Saturday night and you sounded as beautiful as you looked! I was so pleased with your performance--tho' mine was a little out of control!

A very accomplished musician, who was attending our concerts for the first time said, "I was so thrilled with your children's concert and was determining that somehow I was going to talk my eleven year old daughter into agreeing to stay and hear Una Voce sing, when she leaned over and said, 'Please, Mom, can we stay for the women's concert too?'" They were thrilled and took our autographs when it was over!

A man we knew from Ontario , an ex-Marine said that he had to come alone because his wife had another obligation, but when he saw that we were doing patriotic songs he just couldn't miss it. He was thrilled!

Another woman who attended for the first time with her daughter sent a note saying how beautiful it was and that it moved them to tears.

I just keep seeing your faces and feeling again the beauty of your souls as you sing. You are wonderful! I love you!

We will start on the music for next season's concerts and have it ready for you when we see you on September 13th!

SPRING BREAK!

Dear Friends,

Next week (March 28-April 1st) will be our Spring Break, so we will have no rehearsals. Have fun singing while doing your spring cleaning, singing while caring for your families, singing while you work in your yard, humming while you shop! At least, keep a song in your heart.

We will miss you!

Lots of love,
Linda
